Her research spans artificial intelligence, bioengineering, nanotechnology, and stem cell science to develop new stem cell-derived treatments, with an initial focus on osteoarthritis. She has a strong track record in bone and joint repair research, and was awarded the Metcalf Prize to advance a research program combining machine learning with stem cell culture, with the goal of progressing toward animal trials and eventually human clinical applications.
Her work has attracted a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) fellowship and more than 30 research awards, including the 2022 Premier's Prize for NSW Early Career Researcher of the Year (Physical Sciences), NSW Young Tall Poppy Scientist of the Year, and Australian winner of Falling Walls Lab 2021.
